How to Treat and Prevent Heel Pain
Heel pain is a common occurrence in our society today. For instance, I had a patient by the name of Dave who had heel pain for two years in a row with no improvement.
Dave was a marathon runner who runs half marathons annually. But after the heel pains, he was no longer able to run. Consequently, he is looking at all available treatment but he hasn’t used the aggressive approach. Precisely, he uses a home therapy regimen and medical journal on resting.
Some time back I saw Dave jogging in the neighborhood and approached him to know of his running routine. He said at the moment he was running 30 miles in a week, which was half the distance he was running in the past two years. Furthermore, he added that during the summer he used to run 85 miles in a week.
With that said, this is a common occurrence among athletes suffering from the same problem. As a result, they tend to avoid the face of the doctor because they are not ready for any disappointment.
